About · 2 Strong Men and a Truck
Who’s actually
carrying your couch.
2 Strong Men and a Truck is a family-owned moving and delivery company, run by Fabio Mazzarrelli for more than 30 years. We’re based in Thousand Palms, in the low desert, and work the whole 760 — 8 Coachella Valley towns and 4 up the Highway 62 grade. The name is the name, not the headcount: we run several crews and a yard of trucks and trailers up to 26 feet, and match the rig to the job.
One thing to clear up: we are not the national “Two Men and a Truck” franchise and never have been. Independent, one owner, one yard, the same phone number for decades.
The owner
Fabio Mazzarrelli
Fabio has run the company for over 30 years and still answers the phone. The crews you see in our reviews by name — the people customers thank for the 6am starts and the unscuffed antiques — work for him directly, not for a franchise or a lead-selling network.
Where the trucks sleep
The yard is in Thousand Palms, in the middle of the Coachella Valley. Every drive time on our town pages is measured from there — most of the valley is within twenty-five minutes — and any travel charge is quoted flat before you book. Up the Highway 62 grade we cover Morongo Valley, Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree and the Marine base at Twentynine Palms.
Out of the desert we run Phoenix, Las Vegas and Los Angeles every month on a flat quote, with the same crew loading here and unloading there.
How we work
The rules we keepA real person answers
Call and you reach someone who can quote the job, not a call center. Two minutes on the phone and you have a number.
The clock is honest
Three-hour minimum, then billed by the half hour. It runs from arrival to done — never for lunch, never for the drive back to the yard.
Everything gets wrapped
Pads on the furniture, wrap on the upholstery, straps every few feet in the truck. It's slower by ten minutes and it's why nothing arrives scuffed.
Summer starts at six
June to September we load at first light and carry a cooler on every truck. The job gets done before the worst of the day.
We say no when it's no
A 900-pound safe, a grand piano up a spiral staircase, a move that can't clear festival closures in a day — we tell you on the phone, not on the morning.
No-shows: zero
Since day one. If we book the date, the truck is in your driveway on the date.
Licensed & insured
USDOT 3339592 · CA 555265
We operate under US DOT 3339592 and California Motor Carrier Permit CA 555265 — the numbers on the truck door — with cargo coverage on what’s in the truck and liability coverage for your home and the building’s common areas. If your HOA, condo or property manager needs a certificate of insurance, tell us the requirements when you book and we email it before move day.
If something we carry gets damaged, tell us on the spot or within 60 days and we repair, replace or fairly compensate. That’s in writing on every job. What a certificate of insurance is, explained →
Voted Best of the Desert — 2020, 2022, 2025
The Desert Sun’s readers pick the valley’s best mover once a year. No judges, no entry fee — just past customers and their neighbors voting. They’ve picked us three times.
