Moving in Desert Hot Springs

How it goes here

Desert Hot Springs is our first stop down the hill — thirty minutes from the yard, gateway to the valley, and windier than anywhere else we work. We move families in and out of the newer subdivisions off Mission Lakes, longtime locals on the hillside streets above Pierson, and the occasional twelve-room boutique spa hotel swapping out every mattress at once.

That last one isn't a joke: DHS's spa corridor means we do more small-commercial moving here than anywhere in the valley. Hotel furniture, treatment tables, lobby pieces — loaded overnight or between checkouts so the guests never see a hand truck.

What we know

Desert Hot Springs specifics

Wind-smart loading

When the San Gorgonio Pass is howling, DHS gets the worst of it. We stage inside the garage, wrap in the house, and carry mattresses flat — the wind never gets a sail to grab.

Spa and small-hotel jobs

Mattress swaps, room refreshes, lobby refits. We've worked around occupied rooms and tight checkout windows, and we bill hourly, which for a 10-room refresh beats any commercial mover's quote.

Hillside streets above Pierson

Some of the older hillside blocks are steep and narrow with sandy shoulders. We scout parking on arrival and use the long ramp instead of blocking half the street for four hours.

Desert Hot Springs FAQ
Do you charge extra to come down to Desert Hot Springs?

There's a modest travel charge for valley jobs since we're based up the hill in Yucca Valley — we quote it up front as a flat number, and it's usually less than what down-valley movers add in fuel surcharges.

Can you move a small hotel or spa in DHS?

Yes — we've done mattress swaps and room refreshes for the spa hotels. We work overnight or between checkout and check-in, and two men billing hourly is usually the cheapest way to do it.

Is it too windy to move on some days?

We've never canceled for wind — we adapt. Everything gets wrapped indoors, carried low and flat, and loaded in the lee of the truck. Your box spring is not going airborne.
